About Our Lab

The mission of the Antimicrobial Biologics Laboratory at A*STAR ID Labs is to develop the next generation of vaccines and antibody/biologics-based treatments for emerging infectious disease threats.

Matthew Tay’s laboratory research focus is on pandemic preparedness against emerging and re-emerging virus threats, as well as the looming threat of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria. We utilize a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach to achieve research breakthroughs.

Bio: Dr Matthew Zirui Tay is an Investigator at the A*STAR ID Labs. He obtained his Ph.D. in the field of HIV-1 vaccine research at the Duke Human Vaccine Institute. His research interest lies in developing new antibody-based technologies and in applying them to remove bottlenecks in the vaccine and biologics design process.
