This article identified a surprising role of memory B cells in potentially helping to prevent vaccine breakthrough infection by the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant.

This review outlines various novel approaches for the research of infectious diseases, some of which we are developing and applying in our lab. This includes the use of microfluidics for high-throughput bioassays.


Antibody Functions

 

Tay M.Z. et al. (2016) "Antibody-Mediated Internalization of Infectious HIV-1 Virions Differs among Antibody Isotypes and Subclasses." PLoS Pathog 12(8): e1005817.

This publication identified the enhanced function of IgG3 in opsonophagocytosis of HIV-1 viruses, positing an additional antiviral function of antibodies against HIV-1.
